The Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea is comprised of three buildings: research (1 underground and 4 above-ground floors), exhibition and education buildings. Of these, the exhibition center, for which the pilot operation has begun, has some 7,500 specimens of marine life on display. The centerpiece sculpture on the first floor is the symbol of the institute, and it contains a display of about 5,100 immersion specimens of marine life. The specimens on display can also be observed by the visitors in real time using a query device.
